Silk-screened moments in life

This collection of silk-screened designs was created for the purpose of reminding everyone to take time amid the busyness of life. The concept was created when my son was born, and I was experiencing the challenge of new parenthood. Each element is an object used in everyday life: a T-shirt, a onesie, a greeting card, a tote bag, and a print to hang on the wall above a workspace ( like the kitchen). The images were sketched with a pencil and then printed with a Mi-Screen. All the text was hand lettered, and the Mi-screen enabled the fine detailed lines to stay unmuddied in the design.

The different elements each have a design that partains to the element's use. A t-shirt reminding an adult to enjoy their morning cup of tea or coffee; a onsie that underlines the importance of snuggling with our little ones. The tote bag was created with the idea that a home cook could use it for grocery shopping, and the greeting card could be sent with a heartfelt letter to a friend reminding them to smile. Lastly, is the framed print that reminds the viewer to just breathe when life gets hard, to be hung in a work area or other place where a reminder like this would be helpful.
